You Don’t Need Metal Dental Implants To Restore Your Smile

We want to do what is best for our patients whether we are replacing a single tooth or all their teeth. In both of those situations, we would recommend dental implants as part of the process.

But we go a step further than many dental practices. We offer both traditional titanium implants and metal-free implants at our dentist offices in Collegeville and Williamsport, PA. We will help you choose the right implants so we can move forward to restore your smile.

Make an appointment at the LANAP & Implant Center of Pennsylvania to learn about our dental implant options. Call 610-228-4366 or 570-505-6908 or contact us online to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists.

A Holistic Approach To Teeth Replacement

We want to start by saying how much dental implants have improved teeth replacements for people across the world.

Traditional dentures rest over your gumline. They require held to keep them in place, but adhesives only provide temporary benefits. Over time, your dentures will come loose more often and more easily. Eventually, you will have to refit or replace them.

By getting implant-supported dentures, you have a way to secure your dentures in place. The implants serve as a replacement for the roots of your teeth. As such, they anchor your dentures in position and allow to regain much more of your original biting and chewing ability.

Most modern dental implants are made of titanium, which is fine … unless you have an allergy that makes titanium a problem.

Because Dr. DiGiallorenzo believes in a holistic approach to dental care, he wants to be able to help every patient who walks in our door. That’s why we offer metal-free dental implants, too.

Call us if you would like to learn more about this next step in the evolution of restorative dental care.

The Benefits Of Metal-Free Dental Implants

We recommend our metal-free implants for anyone with a metal allergy. However, you may find reasons you prefer them even if you don’t have a metal allergy.

As a periodontology practice, our dentists are experts on gum health. We have found that zirconia — the material used to make metal-free implants — has some advantages for any patient

▶︎ Zirconia is biocompatible.

This is important. Biocompatibility is one of the reasons titanium is used in traditional implants (unless you have a metal allergy). With zirconia, you can get the stability benefits of dental implants without the concerns about an allergic reaction.

► Zirconia is good for the appearance of your smile.

Titanium implants do a lot of things well. However, they do have some drawbacks, too. In some cases, patients will have a dark area near the gumline  that can affect how your smile looks to other people and how you feel about your smile.

Zirconia is much more similar in color to your natural roots. This means your teeth replacements — and your smile — look incredibly natural and lifelike.

► Zirconia can help fight gum disease.

Hang on because this one requires a little explanation. Zirconia has properties that actually can interfere with plaque and tartar buildup. This can lower your risk of gum disease, which could affect the stability of your implants.

By getting zirconia implants, you may be making it easier to keep them in place for longer.

We have notices that more and more patients have become interested in holistic dental care. We have incorporated a number of alternative treatments into our practice through our connection with The Wellness Center.

Our zirconia metal-free implants are just another example of our desire to do everything we can for our patients.

Experience With Metal-Free Implants

There may not be any dentist in the United States who can match Dr. DiGiallorenzo’s experience with zirconia implants.

The Swiss biotechnology company Z-Systems choose his practice to begin using their zirconia implants in the U.S. in 2009. The success he had not only helped our patients but also helped push the technology forward as well.

Dr. DiGiallorenzo visited Switzerland in 2012 to examine a new design for zirconia implants. This improved design has since been introduced in the United States.

We are proud of the role our practice has played in helping our own patients, but also other patients who have benefited from the collaboration between our dentist and Z-Systems.

A Holistic Approach To Implant Placement
