What Are the Warning Signs of Periodontal Disease and How Can It Be Treated?

Periodontal disease is one of the most commonly talked about oral health conditions out there, yet few know what to look for in their daily lives. That’s why we’d like to spend some time in today’s blog talking about the symptoms of periodontal disease and how Dr. DiGiallorenzo of Philadelphia treats it. Not every patient who has periodontal disease will have noticed one of these symptoms, but it’s still good to know about them.

They include:

  • Gums that bleed when you brush or floss
  • Gums that are red, swollen, or tender
  • Chronic bad breath
  • Deep pockets between your teeth and gums
  • Teeth that are loose or have shifted
  • Changes in your bite

Dr. DiGiallorenzo checks for each one of these during every checkup at his Collegeville or Williamsport dental office.

Effective Periodontal Therapy for Philadelphia and Beyond

If Dr. DiGiallorenzo finds any of these symptoms, he can provide effective treatment for his patients from all around the Philadelphia area. One of the most effective treatment options is LANAP, which uses laser technology to comfortably improve oral health. But there are other options, as well. For some patients, managing periodontal disease may be just a matter of brushing and flossing more often, or a combination of different options may be needed.

To learn more about periodontal disease and the periodontal therapy options you’ll find at Dr. DiGiallorenzo’s offices in Collegeville and Williamsport, call one of our Philadelphia-area offices to reserve an appointment. You can also visit our informative page on periodontal issues.

We look forward to helping you!
