Little-Known Advantages Of Dental Sedation [BLOG]

Our Secret To Relieving Dental Anxiety [VIDEO]

The only way to overcome fear is to face it.

Dental fear is no exception, and we’re lucky that dentistry has come far enough to give you real solutions for overcoming it.

At the LANAP & Implant Center in Collegeville and South Williamsport, PA, we offer a variety of options in sedation dentistry to help you get beyond your fear and anxiety and get back to good oral health!

Why People Choose Dental Sedation

Millions of American adults have fallen into the grips of dental anxiety.

This is fear of the dentist that’s overpowering enough to keep you from getting the routine maintenance you need to keep your oral health on track.

How does this happen?

There are a variety of reasons people have severe dental anxiety, which is why we offer a variety of solutions.

Through our choices in dental sedation, from inhaled to oral to IV, you can reach a level of relaxation necessary to help you get through dental treatment with ease.

Sedation is effective if you:

*Are scared of painful procedures

*Are unable to let your body relax

*Can’t let go of traumatic dentist appointments from the past

*Feel doomed to experience the same trauma others have told you about

The benefits of dental sedation certainly don’t stop there!

Little-Known Advantages Of Dental Sedation

Sometimes, it’s so scary to think about your dental procedure, you just can’t calm down or relax no matter how hard you try.

That’s where sedation dentistry can help. It’s medicinal intervention, chosen to suit your level of anxiety and needed treatment, that will help you feel physically and psychologically better about your appointments.

Here are some other less obvious advantages of dental sedation!

*You Build Confidence*

Obviously, the important immediate benefit of dental sedation is that it helps you get through your procedure so your mouth stays healthy.

But at the LANAP & Implant Center, we don’t aim to simply treat symptoms of poor oral health. We want to provide you with lasting solutions, which is why we rely on sedation as a means to an end. Ideally, as you experience more positive, comfortable appointments with us thanks to sedation, you will begin to feel less fearful and more confident.

Eventually, you can, just like countless other once-fearful patients we’ve help over the years, get to the point where you don’t need any form of sedation at all!

*You Stop Fidgeting & Gagging During Treatment*

It’s not easy to relax in the dental chair when there are hands and tools inside your mouth for any length of time.

It’s not only physically uncomfortable, but it can be really tough if you’re nervous, fidgety, and sensitive to gagging.

Sedation forces your body to relax, which is a welcome benefit if you have a hard time feeling calm or resisting the urge to purge when a dental tool is too far back during treatment.

*You Save Yourself Expense Of Future Dental Treatments*

Being too afraid of treatment is, ironically, the quickest way to wind up in the dentist office!

You stay away because you’re scared of complicated, painful procedures, but that only allows dental problems to develop that will ultimately demand that you get treatment as soon as possible to save your smile.

It’s counterproductive!

By having the courage to keep routine dental appointments, you can stay on top of your oral health and actually avoid the more complex treatments that cost you time and money in the long run!
