Why Many Teeth Replacements Take So Long
At many dentist offices, replacing your missing teeth is a long, drawn-out process.
You may have to wait several months after the dentist places your dental implants. They want you to be fully healed before they place your dentures on your implants.
That’s understandable, but there is another way to handle this procedure. You could get your dental implants and your replacement teeth on the same day at the LANAP & Implant Center.
With the help our dentists and staff, you could have your smile back in a single visit to our office. Your replacement teeth will be secure, and as you heal, your bite will get stronger and stronger.
Before you know it, you will able to eat all the foods you could eat before you lost your teeth. You won’t have to fool with denture adhesives or worry that your dentures could come loose in the middle of a meal or a funny story from your last vacation.
If you want to restore a natural-looking smile in less time, call either of our offices in Collegeville and Williamsport to make an appointment.
Using Technology Improves Your Teeth Replacement
We use all the tools in our toolbox to improve the oral health of our patients.
For patients with missing teeth, this may start with our CBCT machine. CBCT is cone beam computed tomography, and it goes beyond what a standard X-ray can see.
X-rays prevent a two-dimensional image of a three-dimensional mouth. With our CBCT, we can create a complete 3D image of your mouth and jaw.
You could think of a CBCT as a smaller CT scanner. In a matter of minutes, the scanner can take hundreds of images of “slices” of your head and mouth. Computer software assembles those slices together to generate a high-resolution model of your head.
This gives us the most accurate information possible. It is invaluable in planning and preparing for your dental implant placement. This helps us makes your implants are placed safely and in positions that will provide you with the maximum benefits.
This is just the start of how we use the latest technology to help our patients.
By using your own stem cells and plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF), we have a more natural way to improve your recovery from your implant placement.
Dr. DiGiallorenzo has completed continuing education and training to learn these techniques. Why? Because he believes our patients deserve the best treatments possible and because he knows that quality of life improves when you have secure and stable replacement teeth.
Dentures Are Not Complete Teeth Replacements
Dentures are a kind of prosthetic, like a prosthetic hand or foot.
Try to imagine what life would be like if you had to glue your prosthetic hand to your arm with glue that was constantly wearing off and had to be replaced. Over time, you would become frustrated by the process.
It’s no different with dentures. Traditional dentures rest over your gums. They are not secured to your jaw in any real way.
Your experience will be much different if you get implant-supported dentures at the LANAP & Implant Center. Not only can you get them in a single appointment, but they will last much, much longer that traditional dentures when your treatment is over.
Not only will your smile look as good as new, but you will be able to bite and chew comfortably, too.
