FAQ: Can anyone get dental implants for missing teeth?

We hear this question a lot at the LANAP & Implant Center. The short answer is… possibly.

That’s not what you wanted to hear, right? You were hoping for a quick ‘yes’ or ‘no’, but that’s not really how this issue can be adequately explained.

What we mean is, no, we can’t perform a dental implant procedure on just anyone who walks into our office looking for a tooth replacement option, at least, not at first.

But the good news is that we have some of the finest specialists in implant dentistry in the country, and we house state-of-the-art technology. Both allow us to help patients become better candidates for dental implants who may not be ready for them at the time they come to us for an initial consultation.

It’s heartbreaking to suffer from tooth loss as an adult only to be told by doctor after doctor that dentures are your best and only option. That’s why Dr. DiGiallorenzo and all of us here at the LANAP & Implant Center work so hard to stay abreast of the latest education, research, and technology to give patients hope when other can’t.

So the longer version of the answer to this question is yes. While you may not initially be a good candidate for dental implants, our team can perform certain procedures that will help you eventually become a candidate.

Two of the ways we do that is through sinus lift and bone grafting procedures.

Often, if someone has gone enough time without replacing their teeth, their jawbone has deteriorated, their gums have receded, or perhaps even their sinus cavity is too low, all to the point where there isn’t enough healthy bone, gum tissue, or room to support or fit a dental implant.

Many dentists might turn patients away who fit that description, but our team is highly-trained in these procedures that help patients be able to eventually support a dental implant with very successful results!

More than anything, we want you to know that we will do all we can to provide the highest quality of care and expertise so that whichever method of tooth replacement you choose, it’s one that will help you look better, feel better, and enjoy a happier, more fulfilling, confident life!

That’s our commitment to our patients. Let us know how we can help you!
