What May Be Part Of Your Full-Mouth Reconstruction
As we mentioned above, the specific procedures included in your treatment will depend on your particular situation. With that in mind, here are some of the services that may be part of your full-mouth reconstruction.
◼︎ Bone grafting
If you are missing several teeth, there is a good chance you may have lost bone density in your jaw as well. We can rebuild your jaw by transplanting bone tissue into your mouth.
◼︎ Dental implant placement
Dental implants are replacements for the roots of your missing teeth. Dental implants can be used to support a dental crown to replace a single tooth, a dental bridge to replace multiple teeth, or dentures to replace an entire row of teeth.
We want to note that we offer zirconia dental implants. This is a great option for patients who have a metal allergy and cannot receive titanium implants.
◼︎ Gum grafting
One of the symptoms of advanced gum disease can be gum recession. The loss of gum tissue can expose the roots of your teeth to bacteria. Gum recession also can leave your teeth loose in their sockets. In fact, gum disease is the leading causes of tooth loss in the United States.
Your body will not regrow lost gum tissue. However, you can restore your lost gum tissue with a gum graft. Transplanted gum tissue can be used to replace the tissue that was lost to infection.
◼︎ Tooth extractions
At first, this may seem like we are taking a step backward. In reality, it is sometimes better to remove teeth that are seriously damaged by injury or decay. By taking them out, you are creating room for stronger teeth replacements.
A Word On Wellness
Your physical and mental comfort are important to our team. That is why Dr. DiGiallorenzo also started The Wellness Center. This gives our patients access to experts in a variety of therapeutic technique. Some of those services are:
